Apple Air (4th generation) Repair FAQ
Why do you offer two screen repair options?
One is for when only the front glass- with the touch/digitizer on it- is broken and the underlying LCD is okay. That’s something that’s surprisingly common, and because the front glass isn’t bonded to the LCD, we can replace that while keeping the LCD. (This happens quite a lot).
The other option is for where the LCD itself is also damaged and needs replaced too.
Why is my fourth-generation Apple iPad Air swollen up?
Inside your iPad, the battery is itself swollen like a pillow, either due to damage or wear. It can be dangerous in this state (as well as causing bend or crush damage to other components), and you definitely need to get the battery replaced.
Is there a diagnostics charge?
There’s no charge for the initial over-the-counter check and discussion- this only applies if we need to book it in for further investigation, and the £CALL fee is already included in the cost of the repair, assuming you go ahead with it.
My iPad got wet- do I need to have it looked at?
If you have reason to believe the water- or other liquid such as tea, coffee, fizzy drinks or alcohol, see our advice on water damage for more information.
