iPhone XS Repairs
Welcome to Gadget Hero and thank you for taking the time to consider our iPhone XS repair services.
The iPhone XS was- along with the Max- Apple’s flagship when it launched… and correspondingly expensive to repair, especially its state-of-the-art OLED display!
Fortunately, component costs and- in turn- repair prices have fallen to much more affordable levels since then. We can even fit a genuine OLED-based replacement screen for £CALL, so there’s no need to settle for the poorer-quality LCDs many repair shops will fit.

Apple iPhone XS Repairs FAQ
How do the screen repair options differ?
The “Premium” screen replacement is based on OLED technology, just like the original iPhone XS screen was. It offers similar factory-standard levels of quality and retains the True Tone facility (which the vast majority of other screen replacements don’t).
“Basic” is a usable third-party LCD screen similar to the type most other places fit. We offer these mainly to compete with other outlets that keep costs- and their advertised price- down by only using cheap LCDs. But “Premium” is definitely the type we recommend and the one most of our customers go for once they understand they’re getting a vastly better display for only a little extra.
My iPhone XS is swollen- is that a problem?
Yep, we’re afraid so. A swollen phone means a swollen battery, which is a sign that it’s both damaged and dangerous. (See our section on swollen batteries for more information).
If your phone is swollen stop using it immediately and store it somewhere safe until you’re able to have the battery replaced.
Do you charge for looking at things?
Generally, we won’t charge unless we actually need to book something in and spend a significant amount of time investigating something. (If that’s the case, we’ll notify you of that in advance!)
Bear in mind that any such charge is already included in the repair cost, assuming you decide to go ahead with that.
My phone has water or liquid on it- should I dry it out in rice?
No, please don’t- that’s a fallacy. Unfortunately, using rice to dry out your phone does nothing to remove the residue that causes the corrosion and can even speed up the process.
Stop using your iPhone XS and bring it to us ASAP. (Please remember that corrosion can be ongoing and a phone that’s okay- or at least fixable- one day might not be the next).
