Why do you offer two screen repair types? Is the “Premium” one worth the extra money?
The screen your iPhone 11 Pro came with is OLED-based. Fantastic quality, but costly to replace unless you know where to look. So many other repair outlets simply use cheaper LCDs instead- so the price looks great until you realise that the quality is disappointing.
We offer you the choice of the “Basic” LCD replacement and a “Premium” OLED screen replacement that is very similar to the original in terms of quality. Because of our industry connections we can bring this to you at a price that won’t break the bank.
We offer the Basic LCD screen mainly to compete with rivals whose “headline price” is based on those cheaper screens. However, once they’ve seen the difference, most of our customers agree the Premium OLED is easily worth the little extra it costs.
My iPhone 11 Pro is swollen- what’s up with that?
A swollen phone is caused by a swollen battery. This indicates that it is damaged and possibly dangerous– it might even catch fire. Stop using it until the battery has been replaced, keep it somewhere safe then bring it to us ASAP. (Swollen batteries can also crush components inside the phone and cause further damage that way).
Do you charge for diagnostics?
We don’t charge for the initial quick look at your phone over the counter or discussion. If we need to book it in and spend time on it, there’s a £CALL diagnostic/stripdown charge, although this is already included in the cost of the repair if it’s fixable and you decide to go ahead with that.
Help! My phone got wet, what do I do?
Switch off your iPhone 11 Pro and don’t use it until we’ve been able to check it over. Try to get it to us ASAP since even a phone that looks okay can have ongoing corrosion inside and might be irrepairable if not looked at.
Don’t bother drying it in rice either (as some people recommend). That still leaves behind the residue that causes the corrosion and can even speed it up.
