Are the genuine Super AMOLEDs really that much better than the unofficial LCD replacements many other places use?
In our opinion- definitely yes! Samsung sold the S6 on the basis of the Super AMOLED’s quality, despite its higher price, and the results are noticeably better.
Even by LCD standards, some of the copy screens aren’t that great, and you’ll notice the difference in colour, brightness, contrast and/or resolution. It’s been said that a cheap screen can make a £750 phone look like a £100 one, and we wouldn’t always disagree with that!
The official screen replacements aren’t always the cheapest, but we believe they’re more than worth a bit extra.
