Unfortunately, the third-party LCDs fitted by most companies don’t support True Tone, so you lose that when the screen is replaced. Is there really any difference between the “Basic” and “Premium” screen replacements?
Definitely- the Premium screen offers a much higher-quality image (similar to the one that came with the phone) and retains True Tone.
Many other stores don’t offer anything like this- they only use cheaper third-party replacement LCD screens. Some are better than others, but they’re almost never anywhere near as good as the original.
Since using cheaper screens lets them advertise a lower price, our “Basic” screen competes with this. It’s fine if price is the most important thing, but for a little extra, the Premium is a far better screen and the one we’d recommend personally.
My iPhone 8 Plus is bulging… is that normal?!
Definitely not. This is caused by a swollen battery, which in turn indicates damage and that it might be in a dangerous state prone to catching fire. Do not use it until a replacement battery has been fitted. (Note also that swelling can crush, bend and damage other components inside your iPhone).
Is there a charge for looking at my iPhone 8 Plus?
You can bring it in and discuss it over the counter- we only charge if we need to book it in and spend time investigating further. (We’ll always tell you if that’s the case, and if you go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee is already included in the price).
My phone’s wet, what can I do?
Assuming the water wasn’t kept out by your iPhone 8 Plus’s waterproofing, turn it off, stop using it and leave it until it’s been looked at. The quick you bring it to us, the better the chance of success. (Don’t dry it out in rice either- contrary to the advice commonly given, that doesn’t work!)
