What are the two types of screen repair?
On the second-generation iPad Air 2, the front glass (which includes the touch/digitizer layer) is separate from the LCD itself. If it’s only the front glass that’s broken, we can replace that on its own, and the repair is a bit cheaper. If the LCD is broken, we replace the whole lot.
My iPad Air 2 is bulging- why?
This is due to a swollen battery inside. That can be caused by wear or damage, and it can be dangerous in this state, so we recommend having it replaced as soon as possible.
Does Gadget Hero charge its for looking at my iPad?
We won’t charge you if you bring your iPad Air 2 in and we have a look at it over the counter. If it’s necessary to book it in for investigation (i.e. the cause of the problem isn’t clear), there’s a £CALL charge which covers our time. Bear in mind that this is already included in the repair price if you decided to go ahead, though.
Can you repair water damage?
Water damage generally requires much more skilled board work to fix the corrosion it can cause. Not all stores can do this, and success is never guaranteed in such cases. However, if anyone can fix your iPad Air 2, it’s likely to be us! (For more info on water damage, see here.)
