What difference is there between the two types of screen replacement?
The iPhone 12 Mini originally comes with an OLED screen. Some stores simply fit LCD-based replacements because they’re cheaper (and OLEDs tend to be expensive), but those almost always have significantly inferior image quality.
We have connections and can source OLEDs at a reasonable price, which is what our “Premium” OLED screen uses. They still cost a little more, but we believe the much higher quality is more than worth it.
The “Basic” screen is LCD-based and offered mainly for price-sensitive customers and to compete with other stores whose prices are based solely on cheaper LCD displays.
My iPhone 12 Mini’s case is bulging or swollen… what’s that about?
Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries like the one in your iPhone 12 Mini can swell up if they’re damaged. (This in turn causes the case to swell). They are dangerous in this state and can catch fire or explode(!) so you absolutely shouldn’t use nor do anything with your phone until it’s been looked at.
Do you charge for diagnostics, investigation, etc.?
We won’t charge you anything for an over-the-counter discussion and quick look at your iPhone 12 Mini.
On occasion, we might need to investigate further to be able to diagnose (which often requires stripping down); if we need to book in your phone for that, the price is £CALL. The good news is that- if your phone is repairable- that’s included in the repair price anyway!.
Help! My phone just got wet, what do I do?!
Turn it off (assuming it’s safe to do so) and don’t use it again until it’s been fixed. Get it to us ASAP since liquid and residue inside the phone may be causing continued corrosion and further damage.
One other thing. Don’t try to dry it out in rice! This is a common myth, but it does nothing to deal with the dirt and residue left behind, and drying it out can actually accelerate this damage.
