Why do you offer two screen repair types? Is the “Premium” one worth the extra money?
The screen the iPhone 12 comes with is an OLED. Since OLEDs can be expensive, most stores simply fit cheaper LCD-based replacements, but those usually have visibly inferior quality. (Very few will draw your attention to that inconvenient fact, though!)
Due to our industry connections, we can offer OLED-based displays (our “Premium” model) at an affordable price. While these are still a little more expensive than the “Basic” (LCD-based) version, we think the far higher quality is worth it, as do most of our customers once they compare them!
(Our “Basic” screens mainly compete against rivals who compete solely on price and use cheaper LCD displays. Ours are fine, but the “Premium” OLED is definitely the one we’d recommend!)
Is there a charge for diagnostics or further investigation?
If you bring in your iPhone 12, we won’t charge anything for an initial over-the-counter discussion or diagnosis.
Sometimes if we need to do more work (e.g. stripping down to investigate), we’ll need to book your phone in, with a £CALL charge. Assuming your phone is fixable- and you wish to proceed- this is already included in the repair price..
Help! My phone just got wet, what do I do?!
Make sure it’s off (if safe) and do not turn it back on until it’s been fixed. Bring it in ASAP as corrosion is ongoing- even if your iPhone 12 looks okay today, it might not be tomorrow.
Oh… and don’t try to dry it out in rice! We hear this one a lot, but it does nothing to clean the residue and dirt that actually causes the corrosion and can actually speed up damage.
