Why are there two types of screen repair?
It depends how badly your iPad 6th gen was damaged. Since the front glass and digitizer (touch) aren’t bonded to the LCD on this model, it’s quite possible to have the front glass break while the LCD is still okay.
That’s good news (relatively speaking!) because it’s much cheaper if we only have to replace the glass and not the LCD as well.
You can usually tell which by seeing if the screen display looks normal (i.e. no cracks, "leaks" or psychedelic effects), but if there’s any doubt, please ask us!
My iPad 6 case looks like it’s bulging- should I have it fixed?
Yes- this means that that battery inside is swollen, either due to wear or damage. It needs replaced regardless and can be dangerous in this state. Battery replacement is a common and straightforward repair for us.
Does Gadget Hero charge for diagnostics?
For an over-the-counter discussion and check, no. There’s only a charge (£CALL) if we have to book in and spend time investigating your problem, and this is included in the cost of the repair if you go ahead with it.
Can you fix liquid damage?
Yes, though the level of success is often dependent upon what damage it’s suffered and how quickly it’s brought to us. Bear in mind that internal corrosion can be ongoing even if your iPad 6 looks fine, and drying it out with rice (as some will advise) doesn’t fix the problem either.
