Is your first generation Apple iPad Air causing you hassle? Don’t worry! Gadget Hero’s experienced staff are here to help fix your iPad problems.

We can’t show every repair on this page, so if your problem isn’t shown here, please contact us anyway, since there’s a good chance we can fix your iPad regardless.
This page applies to the first-generation Apple iPad Air, which is also known as the iPad Air 1, original iPad Air, Apple iPad Air 1st generation (1st-gen iPad Air or iPad Air 1st-gen) or Apple iPad Air 2013. Its model code (or “A” Number) will be A1474 (for the Wi-Fi-only version), A1475 (Wi-Fi and cellular/mobile data version), and A1476 (Wi-Fi and updated cellular/mobile data version).

Apple Air (1st generation) Repair FAQ
Why do you offer two types of repair?
One applies if the LCD itself is okay and only the front glass (with digitizer/touch) needs replacing. For cases where the LCD is broken as well, we replace the whole thing.
Why is my iPad Air bulging?
The battery inside has swollen due to wear or damage and is putting pressure on the rest of it. The pressure and bending can damage the rest of your iPad Air, and the battery can also be dangerous in this state. You should have the battery replaced ASAP and stop using your iPad until this is done.
Do you have a diagnostics/checking fee?
This only applies if we aren’t able to diagnose your problem over the counter and need to book it in to spend more time investigating. The £CALL charge covers our time in this case, though it’s already included in the cost of the repair if you go ahead with one.
My iPad might have suffered water or liquid damage- what should I do?
If yuo think any sort of liquid has got past your iPad Air 1’s waterproofing, we recommend you have it looked at. Please see our section on water damage for more advice.
