You offer two types of screen repair- how do they differ?
The Premium screen repair uses an OLED (the same technology that your original iPhone 12 Pro Max screen used), and provides similar, factory-standard quality.
The Basic repair is LCD-based and provides a usable quality display. We offer it mainly to compete on price with other services who only offer LCD replacements and for price-sensitive customers.
However, the OLED-based Premium display is the one we recommend– you pay a little extra, but you get to keep the much higher display quality similar to that which your phone came with.
How do Gadget Hero’s screen replacements compare with the competition?
Many- if not most- phone repair shops compete on price, and only use cheaper LCD-based “copy” screens. This helps them keep the cost down and boost their profits, but they’re typically of inferior quality and can make your iPhone 12 Pro Max look more like a £150 smartphone!
We believe in offering our customers the choice. A high percentage of them choose the Premium OLED display once the difference is shown to them. Because we have a close relationship with a supplier of OLED-based displays, we’re able to do this at a surprisingly competitive price.

My phone got covered in liquid- what do I do?
Contrary to what some people advise, you should not put it in rice to draw out. This leaves behind the residue that can cause corrosion, and can sometimes accelerate the process.
Stop using your iPhone, turn it off (if safe to do so) and bring it to our store us as soon as possible- corrosion is an ongoing process and a phone that looks okay one day might be irrepairably damaged inside the next.
